Below is the link for the free ASIST (Suicide Intervention First Aid) training that will take place on October 20th & 21st, from 830am to 430pm. This will be hosted at the Mapleton Lion's Club with breakfast and lunch provided both days. This class is being offered to staff, teachers, and school administrators in the Mapleton & Siuslaw School Districts, with additional slots being opened to community members . Last year over 130 school staff from around Lane County participated in the ASIST training.
ASIST is a highly-interactive training that requires presence, vulnerability, and commitment. It includes an exploration of our personal experiences and values related to suicide. The process engages us in discussions, film, simulations, and reflections.
