Student logins to Google Classroom will change by Monday 11/16. Student username format will now be: first.last@siuslawschools.org instead of first.last@siuslaw.k12.or.us. The reason for the change is to add Gmail functionality to the student's accounts. Gmail capability will improve communication between the students and SMS Staff. Students will be unable to email outside of the school district organization and only communicate with their teachers. This change will take effect by the end of the day on Friday. Teachers have been informing students throughout the week, but we encourage you to have your child login before Monday morning.

We are entering into the time of year when the weather is unpredictable. Adverse weather may cause a delay in the start of school, cancellation of school or early dismissal.

Conferences will be held on October 15th from 8 am to 8 pm and October 16th from 8 am to noon.
Due to COVID-19, all conferences will be held virtually this year. You can sign-up for conferences through your ParentVUE account. Both the middle and high school have mailed out parent activation codes for all parents who have not yet activated their accounts. There are video tutorials on both the middle and high school’s homepages for how to activate your accounts and signup for conferences through parentvue. You can also look for an email with information and links to the video tutorials. If you are unable to participate virtually, we ask that you call your school’s office to schedule a phone conference. Great News! The shipment of Chromebooks has arrived. WE have all hands on deck preparing them for distribution. Student Chromebooks can be picked up at Siuslaw Middle School this week, Wednesday-Thursday from 1-7 pm. High school students need to stop by the high scheool to receive their schedules and materials before receiving their Chromebooks.

The first day of school has been pushed out to Monday, September 14th to provide time to get technology, and some training, into the hands of students and parents. The week of September 8th through September 11th is going to be the Technology Orientation, Training and Distribution week. The goal is to begin the adventure of Comprehensive Distance Learning on Monday 9/14.
