Siuslaw School District has three Budget Committee positions open for the school board budget process.  Positions 1, 5 and 7 are open for appointment by the school board. Apply by February 8, 2022 by 4:00PM. The Budget Committee includes the Board of Directors and seven volunteer citizens who are appointed to serve 3-year terms. Committee members must be registered voters living within the boundaries of the Siuslaw School District, and cannot be employees, officers, or agents of the district. The school board will consider applications at the February 9, 2022, school board meeting. The Oregon Health Authority has set final end dates for indoor mask mandates in Oregon - March 31, 2022.   Until then, all current mask and mitigation protocols will remain in place as the changes from the state are incorporated into new protocols after Spring Break.

There is no school on Monday, January 17 for Siuslaw School District staff and students in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

UPDATE: Siuslaw School District has canceled school for Monday, January 3 due to multiple road closures and power outages. We reported earlier a 2-hour delay. However, due to safety concerns, we are now canceling school for the day.

The Siuslaw School District has become aware today of troubling posts that have been shared widely around the country on the social media platform, TikTok.  The posts refer to a threat to school safety for “every school in the United States” on Friday, December 17th.   There have been NO threats to any Siuslaw schools. The post appears to be part of a national TikTok trend that did not originate in our school district, or even in Oregon.
