Siuslaw Elementary School 5th grade teacher Sarah Barnard passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on the morning of Sunday, June 30, 2024. She was comfortable and cared for in her final moments.
Sarah had requested that in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to either the Oregon Coast Humane Society or the Ian Foster Memorial Scholarship Fund through the booster club. Sarah loved dogs and cared deeply for her students.
Care Rooms will be available for former students, families and staff on Tuesday 7/2 and Wednesday 7/3 from 9:00am to 1:00pm in the Siuslaw Elementary School library. If anyone needs assistance in this time of grief, please come by the elementary library to talk with the available staff.
Further details on a celebration of life will be provided at a future time.
